Frederick County Crime of the Week - December 26, 2016

 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a larceny of an exotic cat.  On December 20, 2016, the owner of Wilson’s Wild Animal Park reported that someone entered the property and removed two Siberian Lynx felines secured inside a kennel. The felines are 10-months-old and look identical to the cat in this picture. The theft occurred between 6:00 p.m. on December 19th and 3:30 p.m. on December 20th at the park located at 985 W. Parkins Mill Road.

Winchester Crime of the Week - December 19, 2016

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a larceny at a construction site on the 1800 block of S. Loudoun St. Someone broke into metal tool boxes on the job site and stole tools worth several thousand dollars.  The crime occurred between 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7th and 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8th.

Winchester Crime of the Week - December 12, 2016

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a hit and run involving a pedestrian.  On December 9, 2016, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a 31-year-old woman was crossing Berryville Ave. and Baker Lane when she was struck by a pick-up truck.  Witnesses describe the truck as large; dark gray or green in color, possibly a Chevrolet 2500. The truck traveled east on Berryville Ave. and did not stop.

Winchester Crime of the Week - December 5, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a vandalism and theft from a motor vehicle. It occurred on Sunday, November 27th sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. while the red Toyota Corolla was parked along the 300 block of E. Piccadilly St. near Lincoln St. Someone threw a brick through the front passenger window to break the glass and steal the victim’s purse.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - November 21, 2016

 

This week’s Crime of the Week is an unsolved homicide in Frederick County. On September 21, 2015 Deputies responded to the area of Mountain Falls Park for a report of a missing person, Jeffrey Charles Koller, also known as “Dutch”, age 59.  On September 22, 2015, a citizen found Koller’s body along a gravel road leading to Chipmonk Trail in the Mountain Falls Park area.  The Medical Examiner’s Office concluded Koller died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Winchester Crime of the Week - November 14, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a shooting into an occupied dwelling. Around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 13th, someone fired a shot into a home on the 200 block of West Lane. The bullet went through the home and into a second story bathroom.  Officers believe the bullet was fired from National Avenue, slightly west of West Street.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - November 7, 2016

 

This week’s Crime of the Week involves a grand larceny that occurred in the 100 block of Round Hill Road on October 30, 2016.  The victim reported that he arrived at work and noticed a large number of aluminum wheels missing from a wheel rack.  Unknown suspects forcibly entered the area where the wheels were stored and removed them from the property.

Winchester Crime of the Week - October 31, 2016

 

Winchester Police are investigating a burglary at a home on the 600 block of Atwell Ave.  Police believe someone broke in through a window between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on October 21, 2016.  The suspect(s) stole a television, laptop, tablet, Gameboy system, DVD player and kitchen knives

Frederick County Crime of the Week - October 24, 2016

 

This week’s Crime of the Week involves a grand larceny that occurred in the 3000 block of Woodside Road. The owner of the property reported that between October 1 and October 4, 2016, unknown suspect(s) climbed a fence and accessed an outbuilding on the property.  Four Stihl Chainsaws and 2 Echo Weedeaters were reported missing, along with a Stihl leaf blower.

Winchester Crime of the Week - October 17, 2016

 

Winchester Police are investigating a vandalism that occurred on the Green Circle Trail.  Someone threw a rock and broke a light on the path near Pall Mall Street. The call box was also vandalized with spray paint. The crime happened sometime between 8:00 p.m. on October 10th and 8:45 a.m. on October 11th.

Winchester Crime of the Week - October 10, 2016 

 

Winchester Police are investigating a larceny of a firearm. On October 4, 2016 between 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M., an unidentified individual illegally entered a home on the 400 block of N. Loudoun Street and stole a shotgun from a bedroom closet.

Winchester Crime of the Week - October 3, 2016

Winchester Police are investigating a hit and run on the 0 block of South Washington Street. On September 29, 2016 at approximately 8:00 p.m., two victims reported that their vehicles were struck while parked along South Washington Street. One vehicle had damage to the rear bumper, trunk, front tire, and driver’s side front and rear doors. The second vehicle had damage to the trunk and rear bumper. The suspect vehicle is described as a white pick-up truck or SUV, possibly a Land Rover.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - September 23, 2016 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary in the 100 block of Peppermint Spring Lane.  Deputies responded to the residence for a report of an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entering the residence, ransacking it. The suspect(s) removed several items including jewelry and a watch.

Winchester Crime of the Week - September 19, 2016

Winchester Police are investigating a larceny on the 100 block of East Leicester Street. Between 8:00 p.m. on September 13th and 4:00 p.m. on September 14th, an unknown suspect(s) took a Stihl leaf blower, chainsaw, and weed eater from an outside building behind the victim’s home.

Middletown Crime of the Week - September 12, 2016

Middletown Police are investigating a breaking and entering that occurred on July 6, 2016, at a residence located in the 8000 block of Main Street. A dark colored vehicle was seen leaving the victim’s property in the early afternoon hours when the crime occurred.  The suspect(s) entered the residence through a porch window with forced entry.  Several items were taken, including civil war bullets, jewelry, and coins. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, dark complexion, 5’9” tall with tattoos on both arms and dark long straight hair. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored hatchback with several dents.

Winchester Crime of the Week - September 5, 2016

 

This Week’s Crime of the Week involves graffiti at a Winchester business. Last weekend, someone vandalized the back side of the Ward Plaza building, located at 2280 Valley Avenue.  The suspect(s) spray painted obscene words in red paint sometime between 6:00 p.m. on August 26th and 9:00 a.m. on August 29th

Frederick County Crime of the Week - August 26, 2016 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a strong-armed robbery that occurred in the 1200 block of Circle Street.  The victim reported that on August 15th in the early evening hours, a black male entered her residence through the front door, pointed an object believed to be a firearm at her, and demanded money.  Before leaving, the suspect hit her in the head.  The suspect was described as lanky, 6’2” with a chipped front tooth and tattoos on both his arms.

Winchester Crime of the Week - August 22, 2016

 

This week’s Crime of the Week is a home break-in on the 600 block of Smithfield Ave.  Around 11:45 p.m. on August 16, 2016, officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to a burglary call. Three women inside the home said they heard a loud bang.  They ran to the front of the home to find two men had kicked open the front door.  Officers observed a foot print on the door and the door frame was cracked. The suspects ran from the scene when the victims screamed.  The men were dressed in dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts, and the victims were unable to get clear descriptions

Frederick County Crime of the Week - August 15, 2016

This week’s Crime of the Week is a burglary and grand larceny of multiple items from the 6000 block of Valley Pike in Middletown.  The homeowner reported the residence had been forcibly entered and numerous firearms removed from inside the home, along with some pieces of furniture, a freezer, bedding, an icebox and a stuffed Bobcat. The garage had also been entered and a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, a Hammond organ and two Harley Davidson Motorcycles were reported missing.

Winchester Crime of the Week - August 8, 2016 

The Winchester Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an arson that occurred on Sunday, July 24, 2016 on Fremont Street.  The fire was discovered around 3:50 p.m. An unknown suspect(s) ignited combustible materials located behind the residence at 513 Fremont Street. Frederick County Crime of the Week - July 29, 2016

This week’s Crime of the Week is a burglary and grand larceny at a home on the 100 block of Broad Avenue in Frederick County.  The homeowner reported that an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed four rifles and two shotguns.  Although items had been gone through in other rooms, no other items were reported missing.

Winchester Crime of the Week - July 25, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a series of bicycle larcenies.  Three thefts occurred between July 12, 2016 and July 18, 2016.  They occurred on Green Street, Highland Avenue, and S. Pleasant Valley Road.  In two of the cases, the bicycles were parked in a driveway and front porch.  In a third case, someone pried open a shed to steal the bicycle.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - July 18, 2016

On June 28, 2016, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm at Shade Equipment, located at 1237 Martinsburg Pike.  Upon arrival, Deputies observed the business had been forcibly entered. After taking inventory, it was reported that numerous Husqvarna Chainsaws and backpack blowers were missing.

Winchester Crime of the Week - July 11, 2016 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism to vehicles. The vehicles were parked in the Abram’s Delight parking lot, located at 1340 South Pleasant Valley Road. The owners of both vehicles were at Jim Barnett Park on Thursday, July 7, 2016.  They returned to their vehicles around 2:10 p.m. and discovered both of their cars were keyed.

Frederick County Crime of the Week – July 4, 2016

Frederick county Crime of the Week - June 27, 2016

 

On June 19, 2016, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to Winchester Equipment Company at 121 Indian Hollow Road for a report of a burglary and grand larceny.  The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the business and removed seven (7) Stihl chainsaws, two with carrying cases, and five (5) Stihl trimmers.  The stolen items are valued at more than $5,000.00.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 13, 2016

 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two thefts of travel trailers from Camping World, located at 190 Commonwealth Court.  Both incidents were reported on June 6, 2016.  The trailers were described as a 2000 24.5 foot Jayco Eagle 246, color white with blue striping, bearing Pennsylvania registration XBK-2333, a pull along with no fifth wheel.  The second vehicle was a 2006 19 foot Trail Lite R Vision trailer , with a blue and gray swirl design on each side.  This trailer had a white ladder on the rear and three rows of stickers next the the door from various campgrounds.  It has a West Virginia registration, R-2642.  Both trailers had been brought to Camping World several days earlier and were scheduled for repairs.

Winchester Crime of the Week – June 6,2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a burglary at the old Robinson Elementary School. On June 1, 2016, officers discovered someone unlawfully entered the building located at 2400 Roosevelt Blvd. Someone broke a window near the back door and unlocked the building to get inside. Once inside, it appears the subject(s) vandalized the walls and chalkboards.

Frederick County Crime Of the Week - May 30, 2016

 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three burglaries that occurred between May 5 and May 10, 2016. The first occurred on May 5 in the 200 block of Sleepy Woods Road, Cross Junction. The others occurred in the 4300 block of Apple Ridge Road and 1700 block of Siler Road. 

 

In all three instances, the burglar(s) forced their way inside.  No items were reported missing in two of the incidents, however, miscellaneous jewelry and an unknown amount of US currency was taken from the Apple Ridge Road residence.

Winchester Crime of the Week - May 23, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism near the Korean War Memorial at Jim Barnett Park (1001 E. Cork Street). Someone broke two electrical breakers, a solar light and three Hubbell 70W lamps. The equipment is valued at over $600. Park employees say the incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on 5/12/16 and 7 a.m. on 05/13/2016

Winchester Crime of the Week - May 16, 2016

 

On Thursday, May 12, 2016 around 1:00 p.m., officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Allen Drive for a report of a larceny.  The victim reported that an air conditioner and two wall pictures were missing from the home.  She observed a gray older style pick-up truck leaving the scene.

Winchester Crime of the Week - May 9, 2016

 

This weeks Crime of the Week involves vandalism at a Winchester business.  On Friday, April 29, 2016 around 2:00 a.m., officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to a report of vandalism at Bells Clothing Store on 122 North Loudoun Street. Someone shattered a glass window at the businesses, along the Loudoun Street Walking Mall. A witness reported seeing a group of men leaving the area after hearing a shattering sound.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - May 2, 2016

 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at the  100 block of  Amethyst Court in Stephens City.  The victim reported that her son came home in early afternoon and discovered unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the residence, ransacked it,  and removed numerous items of value.  Missing items included an Xbox 360, various games and a controller, a headset, and U. S. Currency from a wallet.

Winchester Crime of the Week - April 25, 2016

 

This weeks Crime of the Week involves vandalism on the Jubal Early Bridge.  On Wednesday, April 20, 2016 around 5:00 a.m., an officer with the Winchester Police Department was conducting an extra patrol underneath the Jubal Early bridge when he observed graffiti spray painted on the East side retainer/support wall facing the railroad tracks.  An investigation determined the bridge was vandalized sometime between 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19th and 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20th.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 18, 2016

 

This weeks Crime of the Week involves the larceny of two generators from two pet grooming trailers.  The generators were the property of “At Your Bark and Call”, a mobile pet grooming business.  An employee arrived at the business on March 1, 2016 and was getting ready to leave with one of the trailers when she noticed the generators were missing.  Both were Honda brand, red and black in color and were valued at $4,500.00 each.

Winchester Crime of the Week - April 11, 2016

 

The Winchester Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire – now suspected to be arson - that occurred on Sunday, March 27, 2016.  The fire was first reported by a passing motorist at 8:59 p.m.  An unknown suspect(s) ignited combustible materials on the loading dock of the Salvation Army Thrift Store located at 320 Weems Lane in Winchester.  The fire, which damaged the building and contents, also damaged a box truck and a trailer that were parked at the dock.  Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 4, 2016

 

This weeks Crime of the Week involves a grand larceny from 2300 Block of Cedar Creek Grade in Frederick County.  The property owner reported on March 9, 2016 when he went into his building, he noticed numerous items missing, including a tranquilizer rifle, a stick welder, a DeWalt saw and two DeWalt drills.  He indicated that a new battery charger he had just purchased the day before was also taken.

Winchester Crime of the Week - March 28, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a Breaking and Entering and Grand Larceny that was reported on March 14, 2016.  Sometime between March 11th at 4:00 p.m., and March 14th at 7:00 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) entered the former Coca-Cola Bottling Company located at 1720 Valley Avenue, and stole approximately $5000 worth of construction equipment.  The building is currently under construction and being renovated.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - March 21, 2016

 

On February 18, 2016, Frederick County Deputies were dispatched to 100 Block of  Proclamation Drive in reference to a burglary and grand larceny.  The victim reported that his residence had been forcibly entered and unknown suspect(s) had removed a large amount of jewelry consisting of several rings, a watch and a necklace.  He also reported that some U. S. Currency and a container of change was taken.

Winchester Crime of the Week - March 14, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating two incidents of breaking and entering.  The first occurred between 6:00 p.m. February 24 and 6:45 a.m. February 25, 2016.  A suspect forced entry into Mr. Tire, located at 2008 South Pleasant Valley Road.  An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.  The second occurred between 4:30 p.m. February 25 and 7:10 a.m. February 26, 2016.  A suspect forced entry into Terry’s Tire and Auto Center, located at 21 West Cecil Street.  Nothing was reported missing.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - March 7, 2016

 

On February 28, 2016, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stroehmann Bakeries located at 124 Marathon Drive, in response to a call from a delivery driver who noticed the doors to the office were open and the lights were on.  Upon arrival, deputies were advised that the business had been entered.  Once inside, unknown suspect(s) rummaged through drawers, broke into one safe that contained money to be deposited and removed an unknown amount of U. S. Currency.

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a grand larceny at Commerce Street Self Storage, located in the 1500 block of Commerce Street.  Between February 9 and February 18, 2016, an unknown suspect(s) broke into several storage units.  Missing items include dishware and an undisclosed amount of NASCAR collectibles.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - February 22, 2016
 
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at the Dollar General Store located at 321 Fairfax Pike, Stephens City, VA.  On February 8, 2016, an unknown suspect entered the business and within minutes displayed a weapon and demanded U. S. Currency.  The clerk complied, handing the money in the register to the suspect.  He then exited the business on foot in an unknown direction of travel.  The suspect is described as a black male, 6’ tall, and approximately 220 pounds.  He was wearing a black Winter jacket, black pants, black shoes, a black knit hat and a black face wrap.

Winchester Crime of the Week - February 15, 2016
 
The Winchester Police Department is investigating vandalism to a motor vehicle that occurred around 10:50 a.m. on February 5, 2016.  The victim was traveling on Millwood Avenue when the suspect made a U-turn at the intersection of South Pleasant Valley Road and Millwood Avenue.  The 2 cars almost collided, and the suspect became angry.  The victim drove to Walgreens located at 645 East Jubal Early Drive and saw the suspect in his vehicle in the parking lot.  While the victim was inside Walgreens, surveillance video shows the suspect run to the victim’s car and kick a dent in the front passenger door.  The suspect is described as a white male, mid 40’s, and wearing black jacket, blue jeans, and a blue and white winter hat. The suspect was driving a gold colored Dodge truck.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - February 8, 2016
 
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of burglaries and larcenies that occurred between November 2015 and January 2016.  Several businesses in the Stephens City area of Fairfax Pike, which included Sandy’s Pallet, located at 5095 Squirrel Lane, Amerigas, located at 352 Fairfax Pike and Shen-Val Farm Market, located at 2180 Fairfax Pike.  In each instance, the business was forcibly entered and U. S. Currency and checks taken.

Winchester Crime of the Week - February 1, 2016

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a shoplifting from Target, located at 2340 Legge Boulevard.  On January 20, 2016, around 7:15 p.m., two black males (pictured below) entered Target and proceeded to the electronics department.  The suspects concealed a large number of graphing calculators and exited the store without paying.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - January 25, 2016 

On January 15, 2016, Frederick County Deputies responded to 2180 Fairfax Pike, Shen-Val Farm Market, in reference to a burglary and grand larceny.  The owner reported that upon arrival at 0900 hours on January 15th, it was discovered that unknown persons had forcibly entered the market, broke open the drawer to the cash register and removed an unknown amount of U. S. Currency.  Nothing else was reported missing.

Clarke County Crime of the Week - January 18, 2016

 

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Grand Larceny from a small horse training business located in the 1600 block of Summit Point Road in Berryville.  Sometime between January 5 and January 8, 2016, a Parelli brand western saddle went missing.  It is a Natural Performer model, and is tan with white stirrups and brown cross stitching. The black saddle pad has the initials “LWU.”

Frederick County Crime of the Week - January 11, 2016 

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Burglary and Grand Larceny at Seasonal Colors, located at 3186 Valley Avenue.  The manager of the business reported that when he reported for work on December 5, 2015, he discovered that unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the premises and removed four Stihl Chainsaws.

Winchester Crime of the Week - January 4, 2016

 

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Family Doctor’s Office located in the 400 block of Jubal Early Drive.  Sometime overnight between Thursday, December 17 and Friday, December 18, a suspect broke into the business and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
