Winchester Crime of the Week - December 31, 2012

The Winchester Police Department is investigating a Robbery

On 12/11/12, at approximately 9:12 p.m. officers responded to the Caribbean Food Store located at 226 Kern Street for a report of an armed robbery. According to the witness, three males entered the business, assaulted the clerk, displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money before running from the area on foot.
Suspect # 1-black male, wearing a khaki suit, approximately 6”2, 180lbs.
Suspect #2-black male, between 5”4-6”2, wearing a black toboggan.
Suspect # 3-black male, wearing sweatpants.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - December 24, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft from vehicle which occurred at 4651 North Frederick Pike on November 6, 2012. The victim, a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, reported that while she was at Gainesboro School to cast her vote in the elections on November 6th, an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and removed credit cards and identification cards from her wallet. The credit cards were then used in Winchester, as well as at the Walmart in Charles Town, West Virginia.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - December 17, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from 391 Howards Chapel Road between November 1st and 2nd, 2012. It was reported that the residence had been forcibly entered and the wiring cut and removed along with copper plumbing from the kitchen and bathrooms. The unknown suspect(s) also removed the air conditioning/heat pump from the rear of the residence.

Winchester Crime of the Week - December 10, 2012

This weeks Crime Solvers crime has to do with a Robbery. The Winchester Police Department is investigating a Strong Armed Robbery that occurred on September 21, 2012 in the 1st block of Richards Ave, in the City of Winchester.

The victim in this case reported that he was assaulted by 2 males and blacked out. When he awoke he realized his wallet was missing. The suspects were both described as black males, 5’ 10” tall, and about 160 lbs. One was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Frederick County Crime of the Week - December 3, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two burglaries and larcenies at Jim’s General Store located at 2674 Martinsburg Pike. The first burglary occurred on October 18, 2012. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the business and an unknown amount of U. S. Currency and some beer was taken. The second incident occurred on October 25, 2012. Again, unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the business and removed a jar of loose change and a 12 pack of Bud Light beer.

Winchester Crime of the Week - November 26, 2012

Location: Winchester Medical Center (1840 Amherst St)
Date of Crime: November 5, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny from a Vehicle
In the evening hours of November 5, 2012 someone entered a vehicle on the lot of the Winchester Medical Center by breaking a window. The suspect took multiple medications out of the vehicle.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - November 19,2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on October 29, 2012 at Stateline Exxon, located at 4663 Martinsburg Pike. The Clerk reported that a white male entered the store with his face covered, carrying a weapon and a plastic bag. He walked up to the register and demanded all the money. The clerk complied by placing the cash in the plastic bag. The suspect then exited the store and fled the area.

Winchester Crime of the Week - November 11/12/2012

Location: 1st block of West Cork St
Date of Crime: September 19-24, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny from a Vehicle
Sometime between September 19-24, 2012 someone took a large box from the victim’s vehicle. The box contained 18 black Adidas rain jackets.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - November 5, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and burglary and grand larceny on September 24, 2012 at 309 Doe Trail. The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed a jewelry box containing numerous pieces of jewelry and four bottles containing prescription drugs. Various other items in the residence had been gone through, including a second jewelry box. The only item removed from that jewelry box was a pair of earrings.

Location: Trophy World (210 E Southwerk St)
Date of Crime: August 16-17, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny
Employees of Trophy World reported that a large green filing cabinet missing from the office and that it must have been taken sometime overnight on August 16-17, 2012. Nothing else was disturbed. There were no signs of forced entry. The business received information later in the day that the cabinet was located on Reardon Rd in Frederick County.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - October 22, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two larcenies from vehicles that occurred at Shenandoah Sand, located at 1305 Martinsburg Pike, and one at PTG Logistics, located at 209 Brooke Road. These larcenies occurred between September 7th and September 27th, 2012. In all three instances, large amounts of diesel fuel was siphoned from parked semi-trucks and dump trucks.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - October 15, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and burglary and larceny that occurred at 112 Mill Race Drive on September 19, 2012. The resident reported returning home from work in the late afternoon to find that unknown suspect(s) had entered the residence and removed a cordless phone, as well as a 19” Vizio flatscreen TV. Other items in the residence had been rummaged through, but not taken.

Date of Crime: September 16-17, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny of a Wallet
Sometime overnight from September 16 to 17, 2012 unknown suspect(s) entered numerous unlocked vehicles in the Harvest Drive Subdivision. Items taken were wallets, bags, cash, and electronics.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - October 1, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple vehicle larcenies between August 29th and 30th, 2012. These larcenies occurred at 214 Darby Drive, 325 Pembridge Drive, 205 Pembridge Drive, 112 Donegal Drive and 211 Flanagan Drive. Items taken in these larcenies include a laptop computer, 2 IPods, a leather business bag, jewelry, wallets, U. S. Currency, a Nissan ignition key, a hunting knife and a cell phone.

Location: Sharp Shopper (1107 Berryville Ave)
Date of Crime: August 25, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny of Wallet
The victim advised that he left his wallet at the checkout counter of the Sharp Shopper located at 1107 Berryville Ave. Video shows the female in line behind him, took it and left the area in a dark SUV. The suspect was described as a white female in her 30’s with brown hair.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - September 17, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft from Shawnee Canning Company between August 10 and August 12, 2012. It was reported that unknown suspect(s) removed several moneybags from a vehicle parked at 161 Glendobbin Road. These moneybags contained a significant amount of cash, checks and deposit slips belonging to the business.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - September 10, 2012
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at Galilee Church located at 1831 Welltown Road. The incident occurred between June 3 and June 5, 2012. The Pastor reported that upon entering the church on June 5, 2012, he discovered that unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the building and removed a substantial amount of currency which was partial revenue from a yard sale held by the church.

Winchester Crime of the Week - September 3, 2012

Location:   Best Western (711 Millwood Ave)
Date of Crime: July 28-29, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny
The reporting party advised that he was moving items for his brother from Tennessee to Pennsylvania and stopped at Best Western (711 Millwood Ave) overnight on July 28-29, 2012. In the morning he noticed the lock on his trailer had been cut and the following items were missing:
                        Craftsman shopvac
                        Karcher pressure washer
                        Craftsman miter saw
                        Cosco ladder (yellow)
                        (4) Craftsman battery packs
                        Craftsman battery charger
                        Craftsman leaf blower

Frederick County Crime of the Week - August 27, 2012

This week’s Crime of the Week is a burglary and larceny at Throx Country Store, located at 1488 Senseny Road on July 22, 2012. The owner reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the store and removed several cartons of cigarettes. No other items were reported missing, but several items were reportedly knocked over by the suspect(s) while inside the store.

Winchester Crime of the Week - August 20,2012

Location: Martin’s (1950 A Pleasant Valley Rd)
Date of Crime: June 19, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny from Vehicle
While the victim was shopping, someone entered her vehicle and took a Garmin GPS, a purple MP3 player and a green and blue 31 brand diaper bag with the letter “C” embroidered on it. Video showed 2 females with brown hair and a third suspect in a tan or gold vehicle pull up beside the victim’s vehicle and one suspect entered the victim’s vehicle taking the items.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - August 13,2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and larceny that occurred at The Gulf Store located at 381 Fairfax Pike on July 13, 2012. A delivery person reported a suspected break-in on that date and deputies responded to the scene. The manager arrived and upon taking inventory, reported that several cartons of cigarettes had been taken and that several fixtures to the property sustained damage resulting from the forced entry.

Date of Crime: July 16-17, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny

The business reported that 24 copper strike plates (total $14,000 value) were missing from Midwesco located at 416 Battaile Drive . This occurred sometime overnight from July 16-July 17, 2012.

Frederick Count Crime of the Week - July 30, 2012

This week’s Crime of the Week is a burglary at 1544 Chestnut Grove Road that occurred between June 20th and 21st, 2012. The victim reported that he had been out of town and returned to discover that a door to his residence was open and damaged. Many items in the residence had been gone through and nothing appeared to be missing except some miscellaneous jewelry items.

Location: 300 block N Loudoun St
Date of Crime: May 25, 2012
Type of Crime: Home Invasion
The victims reported that two males forced their way into the residence. One suspect had a handgun and demanded money. The victims complied and the suspects left the area possibly getting into a dark colored Volkswagen. The suspects were described as:
Black male, 6’3”, 250 lbs, muscular build, with dreadlocks, wearing glasses
Black male, 6’, 180 lbs, wearing a skull cap, dark hooded sweatshirt, and a bandana over his face

Frederick County Crime of the Week - July 16,2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Attempted Burglary in the 500 block of Hopewell Road on June 8, 2012. Deputies responded to an alarm at the residence and discovered that unknown suspect(s) had attempted to enter the residence by force but were unable to do so.. Nothing was reported missing. Minor damage was reported to the attempted entry site.

Date of Crime: May 15-16, 2012
Type of Crime: Larcenies from Vehicles
Numerous victims reported that electronics (especially GPSs), cash, and other personal items were missing from their vehicles. Someone entered these vehicles overnight from May 15-16, 2012 in the neighborhood of N Braddock St, Richards Ave, and Locust Ave.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 25, 2012

On May 12, 2012, Frederick County Deputies responded to the 400 block of Buckingham Drive for a report of a burglary and grand larceny. The victim reported unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered his residence and removed a Sony Playstation 3 game system, miscellaneous Playstation 3 games, a portable Bluetooth headset and two Playstation 3 controllers.

Date of Crime: March 20-21, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny from Vehicle
The victim became aware that her vehicle had been entered sometime overnight when her neighbor found the victim’s wallet in the bushes and returned it to her. The victim is missing $100 in US currency from the wallet, Ray Ban sunglasses, a gray Garmin GPS, and a lime green IPOD.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 11, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny between May 10th and 11th, 2012, at the 100 block of Somerton Court. Unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed a PSP game system and a laptop computer. At the time of the incident report on May 11, 2012, no other items were reported missing.

Location: Avon Store (2225.5 Valley Ave)
Date of Crime: April 18, 2012
Type of Crime: Larceny, Credit Card Fraud
An employee reported that a female came into the store requesting to use their bathroom to change her baby. They allowed her to use the back room of the store. Later the employee noticed her wallet was missing and that several unauthorized charges had been placed on her credit cards. The suspect was described as a white female in her 20s, 5’5”, 120 lbs, and had blonde hair. She was picked up by a white female with dark hair who was driving a white vehicle.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny that occurred sometimes between April 22nd and May 4th at 2471 Apple Pie Ridge Road. The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered her residence and removed a JVC 32” LCD TV and a Sony DVD player. Many other items in the home were either moved or gone through but nothing else was taken.

Type of Crime: Grand Larceny
An employee reported that 3 Dell laptop computers are missing from the Women & Children Conference room in the North Tower of the Winchester Medical Center. The larceny occurred sometime between March 8th and 10th. All 3 laptops had a model number of E6520 and were black in color.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - May 14, 2012

On April 2, 2012, Deputies responded to a burglary and grand larceny at the 200 Block of Wakeland Drive in Frederick County. The residents reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed numerous items including approximately 10 bottles of liquor, wine and beer. It was also reported that several shot glasses, wine glasses, some costume jewelry, a gold watch, a miter box and other miscellaneous items were missing from the home.

Winchester Crime of the Week - May 7, 2012

Location: Apple Blossom Mall (1850 Apple Blossom Dr)
Date of Crime: December 27, 2011- March 14, 2012
Type of Crime: Grand Larceny
The company that takes pictures at the Apple Blossom Mall of children with Santa and the Easter Bunny reported that they are missing equipment since it was last used at Christmas time. The missing equipment is a black Canon camera with Accu Sync Display and 3 cords.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 30,2012

On April 5, 2012, Deputies responded to the 100 Block of Larue Lane reference a burglary and grand larceny. The resident reported that unknown suspects forcibly entered his garage and removed a Craftsman tool chest with tools, a Gary Fisher Mountain Bike, blue in color, a Recumbant three wheel bike, brown in color and a two wheel bike trailer. Estimated value of the stolen items is $1,700.00.

Date of Crime: March 31, 2012-April 4, 2012
Type of Crime: Breaking and Entering
Someone broke into the Richard’s Jewelry located at 128 N Loudoun Street between March 31 and April 4, 2012 and rummaged through the business taking a large amount of jewelry.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 16, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of vandalism and grand larceny from 2261 Front Royal Pike. One contractor at the construction site reported extensive damage to a 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup truck and theft of several extension cords. Other contractors reported that their utility trailers, a backhoe and some storage containers on the site also had been entered or were damaged in this incident.

Location: George Washington Auto Park (131 N Kent St)
Date of Crime: March 3rd and 8th, 2012
Type of Crime: Vandalism
On two separate occasions in the late night/early morning hours, a white male is seen on video using his body to push the garage entrance/exit arm with his body bending and damaging it. The male walked into the garage and is not seen exiting it on foot or entering a vehicle.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 2, 2012

MISSING PERSON

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information reference the disappearance of Daniel Eye on October 10, 1992. Mr. Eye was last seen at his home on Papermill Road on that date and has never been seen alive since. His vehicle was recovered on October 14, 1992 at the Luray Avenue Boat Landing in Front Royal, Virginia. This boat landing is on the Shenandoah River.

Winchester Crime of the Week - March 26, 2012

Location:Wingate Inn (150 Wingate Dr)

Date of Crime: March 5-6, 2012

Type of Crime: Grand Larceny

The victim advised that he has a truck shell on his vehicle and someone broke his tailgate to take a Generac 8000 watt generator and a Burndy crimping tool in a red case.This occurred overnight on the parking lot of the Wingate Inn.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - March 19, 2012

On January 26, 2012, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary and grand larceny on the 400 block of Sir Johns Road. The resident at that address reported that his residence was forcibly entered and a gun safe containing several rifles, a shotgun, ammunition, some car titles and a large amount of U. S. Currency was taken.

Type of Crime: Larceny

The victims own a trash collection business and noticed that sometime between December 28^th and 31^st someone took 80 gallons of diesel fuel from their trash truck. They believe that it would have taken more than one person to carry that much fuel away.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - March 5, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from 2261 Front Royal Pike on February 1, 2012. Deputies responded to a report of larcenies from storage containers located on a construction site at that address. Miscellaneous copper tubing, copper fittings, and copper wire was removed from the containers, along with various hand tools. Value of items taken is estimated at more than $11,000.00.

Location: Second Skin (4 S Loudoun St)

Date of Crime: January 10-11, 2012

Type of Crime: Grand Larceny

The business owner of Second Skin, located at 4 S Loudoun St, advised that her Valentine’s Day decorations were missing from the front of her business. The decorations included garland, hearts, and large red lights. The business owner previously reported that her Christmas decorations had been taken in November. In each incident over $200 in decorations were taken.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - February 20, 2012

At approximately 7:22 a.m. on December 18, 2011, a lone black male walked into the Liberty Station on U. S. 50, East of Winchester. He displayed a large knife to the clerks, then walked behind the register and removed an undetermined sum of money. The robber is described as a black male, 5’9” tall, slender build, wearing a dark hoodie, tan cargo pants and black and white sneakers. He had a white t-shirt type material over his face with slits cut out for his eyes. He said nothing to the clerks.

Type of Crime: attempted larceny from a vehicle

In the early morning hours of January 7^th, the victim noticed 2 males in his vehicle. Both suspects were described as white males with light hair, in their late teens or early 20’s. One was wearing a sweatshirt and the other was wearing a dark jacket, ball cap and a back pack with a reflective stripe.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - February 6,2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from the 200 block of Little River Drive between January 3^rd and 4^th, 2012.The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) entered her residence and removed a 32” flat screen, TV, several rings, a digital camera, and a small amount of U. S. Currency.

During the afternoon hours someone entered the home, rummaged through drawers, and took a black 26” flat screen TV. There are tire marks in the grass leading up to the back door.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - January 23, 2012

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from 6814 Northwestern Pike on December 5, 2011. It was reported that unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s residence and removed several pieces of jewelry from a jewelry box, as well as some silver coins, along with the container.

The resident chained a red MTD brand snow blower to his fence and later that day it was gone. The suspect had to have cut the chain to take it. The snow blower was valued at $400.

Winchester Crime of the Week - January 2, 2012

Location:300 block of Tevis St

Date of Crime: December 22, 2011

Type of Crime: Larceny

The victim advised that he was expecting a package to be delivered on this date and when it didn’t show up, he reviewed his surveillance video for the front of his residence. Video showed the package was delivered at 15:58 and a male taking the package from the porch at 17:20. The suspect was described as a white male, 5’10”, 220 lbs, had close cropped hair, wearing a sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was driving a white quad cab truck with silver freezers in the truck bed.
